What is TtrpgList?

I'm on a quest to make it easier to understand the ttrpg landscape.

What is going on here?

I'm on a quest to make it easier to understand the ttrpg landscape.

There are a lot of cool games out there but it can be really hard to hear about them.

The community feels fragmented. There are dozens of publishers with their own stores, drivethru, itch, other shops... I just want to see it all in one list. I'm tired of hopping between a host of different publishers, social medias, or crowd funding sites to stay up to date.

This is my attempt to do that.

I have 3 goals for this project.

  1. Create a catalog of ttrpgs.
  2. Help indie ttrpg games get found and supported.
  3. Help educate people new to the hobby and find their favorite RPG.

Who is in charge?

Hi I'm nemo. My parents named me Ryan but my friends and the internet call me nemo. I've been building websites since 2009. I've spent most of time working for fortune 500 companies building tools to help people automate the tedious parts of their jobs. I've lead dev teams, accidentally caused big outages, met a lot of amazing people, and learned more than I've ever wanted to know about computers. My plan since highschool was to join the coorperate world to get experience, then jump ship and see if I could fly solo. I'm hoping to turn this site into a nice portfolio piece just incase...

I'm just one awkward person. I'm not affiliated with roll 20 or hasbro or anyone. I have a full time job and this is my side project. I plan to use this site to show off my skill, learn some marketing and SEO, and hopefully future clients appreciate it enough to hire me.

If anyone wants to pay me to work on something else. Please send me a message to [email protected].

How do I measure success?

I'll consider this site be successful if this site can support itself. I think it would be awesome if it could buy my family a nice dinner once in awhile too. If the site made $100 a month, I'd be off the walls excited. If the site made $20 a month, I'd still be happy.

I have no plans to get rich off this site. I just want to build a portfolio site and give the community a space to peek at once in awhile to find anything they may have missed.

Where does the money come from?

I'm hoping to get some affiliate links. I think that could be enough. If not, I'd like to consider featuring some content. This offer would be exclusive to indie games, It would also be the most affordable option out there.

If you don't know, an affiliate link means that the store knows I sent you because of some extra data attached to the link. When you buy something, they know that I sent you, and give me a small cut. For DriveThru, they give 5-8% depending on your status with them - https://legacy.drivethrurpg.com/affiliate_faq.php
